MOHAMAD ZUHRI BIN ABD RASHID

About Me
Mohamad Zuhri Bin Abd Rashid is a passionate advocate for sustainable tourism and ecotourism with a career rooted in creating meaningful travel experiences. Armed with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Forestry, specializing in Park and Recreation Management from Universiti Putra Malaysia, and a Master’s in Tourism Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia, he has spent years turning his vision of responsible tourism into reality.

Zuhri’s journey began in 2004 as a Research Assistant at Universiti Putra Malaysia, delving into the world of eco-tourism. He then joined the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), where he stepped into the role of Assistant Manager in the Geopark and Conservation Division. Over the years, he has been at the forefront of initiatives that celebrate Langkawi’s unique natural and cultural heritage, from managing UNESCO Global Geopark programs to curating new tourism products and fostering international collaborations.

When he’s not shaping Langkawi’s tourism landscape, Zuhri channels his energy into promoting sports tourism. A keen golfer and cyclist, he plays an active role in the Langkawi Golf Association (LAGA) and the Langkawi Extreme Bicycle Club (99 Bikes Langkawi), championing Langkawi as a hub for adventurous spirits.

For Zuhri, tourism isn’t just about destinations – it’s about stories, sustainability, and the joy of connecting people with nature.
